Dear Blog, I apologize for the neglect...
Dear Blog,
Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been neck deep in nailing down what the heck we're doing with the kitchen when we tear it apart in 17 days. SEVENTEEN. I'm starting to panic a tiny bit - ok, a lot - it just dawned on me that I've been so focused on finalizing a layout for the cabinets & other arrangements, I haven't even attempted to think about setting up a temporary kitchen. And that thought just sends me running to the hills - or a bottle of wine.
Another reason I haven't been around? The smallest people in my life, when they're home, don't stop talking. At all. All day long. It's impossible to think when they're chatting at me and asking for help with anything and everything under the sun.
Actually, there are lots of other reasons too - Evie and William don't go to bed until 8:30 or 9 anymore, and by the time things are wrapped up for the day - or deemed unimportant enough to be left for the next day - I just don't feel like trying to put together any kind of coherent thoughts. And blogger always gives me fits with pictures (how do other people manage picture editing/uploading/hosting? because I need to find a better way).
I'm completely in the weeds with everything around here - I tore apart the living room to paint it last week, but Matt needs to re-do the wall frames where we put the door, so that's on hold until this weekend (I sent him on a trip to Richmond to pick up the new kitchen chairs - ebay, SCORE! - last weekend); I need to do our taxes in the next two weeks because if I don't, I'm sure I'll forget in the upheaval of the kitchen. Oh, and I need to start packing up the entire main level of the house for the floor refinishing. (Why the hell did I think this was a good idea?)
Anyway - none of these things are devastating or permanently life-altering - just the state of the Jennisphere at this moment in time. I'm sure I have a ton of interesting things and photos to share, if I can just stay off the computer, get my act together, and get some stuff done around here. And here I thought a lap top would help me be MORE productive. HAH!
much love,
Jen

Oh man! You've got a lot going on!
ReplyDeleteI miss you!
You do have a lot going on! But it's worth it. Can't wait to see your progress!
ReplyDeleteI do miss your posts! I cannot imagine working on so many projects. I struggle just to manage day-to-day business with 4 kiddos! I hope that the projects keep coming along and that you discover a new wine favorite in the process. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo busy! I can't wait to see your new kitchen though. That's so exciting!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a lot going on now. But you also have goals to focus on. That'll help get you over the hump. It'll be worth it!!! Williamsburg sounds like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow!! You are busy! We forgive your neglect :))
ReplyDeleteTake it one day at a time momma!!
