A brief update from the depths of Dante's Inferno

Hi. It's been awhile - again - but things have been a bit crazy here recently :) I think I last mentioned we were ready to have the drywall in our kitchen finished - that's been completed; the dining room is now sporting a coat of fabulous inky blue paint instead of wallpaper; all the wood floors have been refinished from a natural oak to a darker English Chestnut, but not without some angst - no remodel happens without some contractor drama; I survived a week in Williamsburg mostly by myself with the kids - we spent 3 solid days at Busch Gardens, details and tons of photos to follow; we had some plumbing issues unrelated to the remodel to deal with, and finally had our cabinets delivered first thing Friday morning. After the town/neighborhood yard sale Saturday morning, Matt and a friend started installing our cabinets. Phew! I'm exhausted just typing it - but that could be the wine talking.
Our lovely dining situation for the next hopefully only 2 weeks :)
Tuesday night and where do we stand? Taxes have been filed at the 11th hour, thankfully - I was worried about getting that finished; tomorrow the fridge will be moved from its temporary home in the mudroom - where its been sitting in the way for the last few weeks - into its new home where it will sit until I move from this house, or it dies, whichever comes first; the cabinets are about 2/3rds of the way installed - we have 3 wall and 2 base cabinets left, in addition to the island. If we stay on track, we should  have a fully functional kitchen by the first week in May - fingers crossed. We're all pretty much tired of the crockpot meals I froze and I'm actually anxious to have options other than the crock pot and microwave to deal with. You'd think Matt or I would get around to cleaning up the grill, but that hasn't happened yet. Maybe tomorrow - after I run some errands, paint the upstairs hall closet and do a thousand other things on the to-do list for the next week :).....

  1. I love that picture, it took me a second to realize you weren't one of the kids LOL.

I cannot wait to see the final outcome of the kitchen, I'm sure that it will be gorgeous just like the rest of your house :)
