Everybody needs a helping hand

Two days before Thanksgiving the aerator on my kitchen faucet decided to blow out. The day before Thanksgiving I dragged the four to Lowes to look for 1) a repair part or 2) a new faucet. Did you know that one-size fits all replacement parts stink? Very leaky, splashy. Mommy got a new faucet for Thanksgiving! (Almost). Matt was in the process of changing them out when I rounded the corner and discovered he had a little buddy helping him. Sort of.

Poor Matt- Jason was so intrigued by what he was doing & really wanted to be right there in the thick of things. Of course, wrenches walked off and had to be hunted down, but Matt's really very tolerant of 'help' when it comes his way!

Did my new faucet get installed before it was time to cook Thanksgiving dinner? Of course not. Every project requires at least 2 trips to your local hardware store. Sort of Murphy's Law of DIY projects. Matt braved the crowds on Black Friday morning to get what he needed and I was loving my new faucet by lunch time. Thanks Matt :)

To those who've wondered if I take my 'doll' with me everywhere, the answer is no - he hangs out on my kitchen window sill & keeps me company while I cook and clean up. Because a Harried Mom spends lots of time in the kitchen, and at least he doesn't pester me for things or make a lot of noise. He's just quietly supportive. I like that.

  1. OMG what adorable pics! And your new faucet looks awesome! And I'm not even especially crazy about Edward or Twilight, but I could use a quietly supportive man around my house, too... Hmmm...

  4. It's never easy - is it? Why does it always take 2-3 times longer than the plan? Maybe it's because all the extra "help" prohibits a clear mind? Maybe . . .

  6. Yay for a new faucet! It's pretty. I love the pics. Jason's pjs are so cute! Were you able to get all of your Christmas décor up with the help of your little elves?? I still haven’t got mine up. Hopefully this week.

I'm lovin' pocket Edward sitting on your window ledge...nice place for him...makes kitchen chores a little easier. :) I took him with me on some of my ventures this weekend. I'll post pics later this week. :)

Hope you’re having a great Monday!
