Too busy obsessing to blog...and no, the bathroom isn't finished yet.

I think I've mentioned in the past that I'm a hypochondriac. Usually I can keep it pretty much under control, but recently I've been obsessed with the idea that something is really, really wrong. The mind (or my mind, anyway) has an amazing ability to blow things completely out of proportion. It's not a cold, it's pneumonia. My back doesn't hurt, I'm riddled with sudden onset cancer. Of course, none of this is funny to people who really are battling horrible things - but the internet is a wild and dangerous place for the person who tries to self-diagnose. Some have been known to actually faint :) I haven't gotten there yet - and I'm hoping this phase will pass soon, as it can be all-consuming. I guess since we're finishing up with the bathroom, I needed something else to obsess about, so why not my health??
So the bathroom is pretty much done, with the exception of the mirrors over the sinks and some trim paint - I have the mirror frames, and am just waiting on the mirrors to be cut and beveled so we can hang them, hopefully this week! Matt cleaned up the grout on Saturday & we should be able to seal it by Tuesday night, and then it needs to cure for 3 days (I think) before we use it - which will be just in time for me to fly out of town on Friday to meet up with Shawn, Jenny Kate, Vivienne, Becca, and Impulsive Addict in Austin for the weekend!! I'm betting that Matt and all the kids will have used the shower by the time I've returned, but that's ok - I get a weekend away with the girls - CANNOT WAIT :)
Have you seen the movie starring these two yet? I haven't - and I'm really hoping I get to before it leaves the theaters. Apparently the elephant steals the show.

  1. My husband has that affliction. Hypochondria. It is killing him that our new insurance has a $200 co-pay for ER visits.

Now he has to suck it up!

Have a great time in Austin! So wish I could have made it. Next time....

  2. Did Matt tell you? He invited me and my family to come over next weekend and take a shower.

  3. Lucky you - a new bathroom and a weekend away! I am so jealous!

  4. Oh, the hypochondria thing. I have that too. It's sooooo hard. I have given myself a panic attack thinking of it...and then thought I was really having a heart attack. It's a viscious cycle!
    So jealous about TX. :(

  5. Yay for Austin! I absolutely can not WAIT!!!!

  6. Oh man the internet is totally not a good place to go when you have an ailment, I too have diagnosed things WAY worse then what they were.

Soooo jealous of your Austin trip, SO JEALOUS! Ok Ok I'm excited for you guys too, but still REALLY jealous LOL :) I hope that you guys have a wonderful time, although how could you not with the ladies that are going. Cannot wait for stories from you all when you get back!

  7. Who needs a new bathroom when you have US!!!!!!!

    Can't wait!!

  8. I didn't know that there was someone out there just like me! I am a hypochondriac, but I don't go to the dr. for fear of what they will tell me I am about ready to die from.....does this make sense?? Love your blog--read it everyday!!

  9. The bathroom will be well worth the wait I'm sure!

If my daughter say they have a sore throat within minutes mine hurts too. The human mind is a crazy thing!

Austin is going to be epic!

I'm just gonna say it. Edward {Ha, Robert} looks like a 12 year old here. It's actually grossing me out a little... GAGGING!

  10. The internet and googling symptoms is a scary place. I was sure I popped a blood vessel in my head earlier in the week when I held in a sneeze. (My family has been telling me for years that my head was going to explode if I keep holding in my sneezes....) I googled to see if I could do it. You can't in your brain, but I did burst one in my freakin' eye and it was all red and gross in the corner for two days!

However, it is looking better now and hopefully won't gross you out when we meet up in Austin! Yay!

  11. WHAT?! You haven't seen WFE?! Holy geez, Jen! I wonder if they'll let us sneek off to see it while we're in Austin?? :)

    I. CAN. NOT. WAIT. to see you in person!! So so excited!

    Travel safe! See you tomorrow!!
