Ramblings.....
"First rule of Fight Club - Don't talk about Fight Club!"
Poor baby Jason scratched his eye yesterday (he's fine!) but whenever he gets a boo boo I always think of Fight Club - must be because he's ALL boy! I think Jason is officially done with morning naps - we went grocery shopping yesterday morning (without incident - hooray!) and he made it all the way home in the car (20 minutes) with just a yawn or two. In some ways that will make life easier, not so much in others...I think I'll be glad to be able to get out of the house now with the two little ones, but I did enjoy that nap!
So William says to me this morning in the car - "Mommy can we sell Sarah? I hate her!" This is the same boy who always reminds us to say Grace at dinnertime, and likes to make up his own blessings to say (which are actually very good!). His feelings for her at the moment may be directly related to the fact that she seems more 'terrible' than '2' these days. It seems to me that age 3 was worse with the first two kids; she's hitting it at 2. Lots of whining, crying, screaming and arguing going on with her at the moment....
and finally - I finished my runs for the week, feeling good! The first run, 2.5 miles, was on a beautiful warm day - very easy. My second run, 2 miles, was done after strength training for 35 minutes - it was cold, windy and miserable! Yesterday I did 3 miles, and it wasn't too bad - I actually did it all feeling pretty good. Maybe I am a runner after all! Fair weather, anyway - you'd be hard pressed to find me out there in the rain, snow, or 100 degree heat! I am fortunate enough to have my dear hubby here working from home so I don't have to do it at 5 or 6 am.
Exercising and my blog (!) are really the only two things I do purely for myself these days, and I find it really helps me deal with the rest of our crazy life. When things get hairy around here I always seem to come back to a quote from Meet the Robinsons - "Keep Moving Forward". Helps me get through the next 30 minutes, hour, day, whatever - just keep moving forward!

Good for you with the running! I'm panicking now that it's spring and I have to wear shorts soon!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question on my blog:
I use a Canon Rebel xsi. I love it!
I can relate with the kids picking each other. One minute ours are fighting and the next they are asking us why we are mean to the other one.
ReplyDeleteI love running too but just like fishing, there are good and bad days to fish and run and rainy or cold days are bad.
Hi - thanks for stopping by my blog for my giveaway! It's so nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family you have! I am so impressed that you can find the time to run with your cute little children. Good for you!!!
Jen
I am trying to be a runner.. some days better than others.... Often wonder what the people of Berryville say though, surely not "wow, she is a great runner!!" Great job....
ReplyDeleteKeep up the running ! I was just like you, plodding through 2 or 3 mile runs, then I set my sights on a half marathon. I put it on my life "to do" list, then finally finished one in 2007. Felt so great. Keep going girlfriend ! Your legs will look awesome.
